Intercontinental Hotel Signage

A collaboration with Monoco Signs

June, 2024

RSi-Design, in collaboration with Monoco Signs, undertook a prestigious project to design and supply a comprehensive signage system for the Intercontinental Hotel. The project’s scope included crafting interior signs, elevator and restroom indicators, canopy lettering, and parking garage signs, all tailored to embody the hotel’s luxurious aesthetic and functional requirements.

Materials and Design: The interior signs were fashioned from brushed muntz metal, known for its durability and elegant finish. The elevator and restroom signs boasted a charming design, with water jet cut quarter-inch thick muntz metal plates mounted seamlessly onto the walls.

Craftsmanship and Lighting: The letters and logo were meticulously crafted from polished gold titanium-coated mirror- polished stainless steel, providing a sleek and modern appearance. The letters featured a halo lighting effect, creating a subtle glow around each character. In contrast, the logo was face lit to ensure prominence and visibility.

Exterior Signage: Above the hotel’s canopy, the letter set was face illuminated, constructed from polished gold titanium-coated mirror- polished stainless steel. This material choice not only offered the classic look of brass but also promised enhanced longevity against environmental elements.

Parking Garage Signage: Two parking garage signs were designed with face-lit letters for clear identification. Below, an internally illuminated sign made from fabricated aluminum showcased push-through copy, ensuring the message was legible from a distance. Additionally, a smaller set of halo-lit signs adorned the side of the parking garage, providing a consistent design language throughout the property.

The collaboration between RSi-Design and Monoco Signs resulted in a signage system that perfectly aligned with the Intercontinental Hotel’s brand image. The use of high-quality materials and advanced lighting techniques ensured that the signs were not only visually striking but also functional and durable.
